Rami Alrahmouni takes Saudi Arabia to 400m freestyle gold in Dakar

Rami Bilal Alrahmouni delivered Saudi Arabia’s latest Dakar 2026 swimming highlight with a 3:47.86 performance in the men’s 400m freestyle timed final on 3 November.

The 400m freestyle at Dakar is decided across timed-final heats. Alrahmouni won the fastest heat and was placed first overall in the official final ranking, which confirms the gold medal rather than a heat-only result.

The Saudi swimmer’s 3:47.86 was the key number on the board. Over eight lengths of an Olympic pool, that requires a controlled opening, patient middle 200m and a finish strong enough to protect the overall result as the earlier heats are compared.

This result carries extra weight for Arab swimming at the Youth Olympic Games. It puts Saudi Arabia at the top of a distance freestyle event in Dakar and gives regional followers a clear performance to track as the programme continues.
